Final Show: More Edits Exposed—Exclusive Commentary from Bentley*
*by Bentley we mean Bentley Apologists (that guy with amazing hair had nothing to do with this post)
Let’s get started by watching a few clips that make yet another strong case for heavy editing in the show. This is an interview given right before Ashley is proposed to by both JP and Ben (this is just one clip clarifying the time of the interview as right before the final rose). Now this second clip is from the Japan show of Ashley supposedly “figuring Bentley out” and telling Bentley off. Notice anything similar? They are the EXACT SAME INTERVIEW happening on the same day, check out Ashley’s outfits, makeup, hair, and background. This girl has never been in the same outfit on this show in two episodes. What does this mean? The complete tell off of Bentley supposedly happening weeks earlier was completely fabricated.
After reading the Bentley Apologists Edits posts, this type of editing is no surprise to our readers. Ashley was edited to look sharper than she is, Bentley was edited to look like a jerk more than he is, and the producers haven been laughing all the way to the next trashy show production.
Bentley was never invited back to the final show. Contestants are compelled to attend on at the request of ABC as part of their contract. Same reason Bentley can’t give an interview. If Bentley violates the contract, the show can quite easily sue him for the “damages” to the production. The producers and Chris Harrison didn’t want Bentley back because it was too much of a risk for them as noted by this blogger.
Let’s re-watch the clip of the men discussing Bentley. All the comments are by no names like Drunk Tim (with the exception of Glambert) and the edits of the discussion are super choppy. Is this really all they had to say? Certainly not, the men that got to know him defended Bentley in the press here, here and here. Bentley had an army of friends on that panel that we never heard a word from. None of the men that supported him said anything on the final cut that aired? Well that is what the producers want you to think, but apparently these men actually defended Bentley, unfortunately we didn’t get to see it.
So what about the man whose name has been mentioned in EVERY SINGLE SHOW since the first 3 episodes he was on? The man who got a girl to fall in love with him after hanging out a total of about 3-4 hours alone? And even with the edits, is what Bentley did really that bad? We are quite certain Ashley gave roses to multiple men she had mediocre feelings for. Shoot, Ashley had Ben propose to her before telling him no. Ben said that Ashley gave no sign that she was not choosing him till after he completely humiliated himself. How is this any better than what Bentley did? It’s not! It’s actually worse. Bentley was leading a girl on for a few dates and Ashley made someone think she was going to marry them. What about Brad Womack and others who slept with multiple women only to reject them for someone they were certain they would choose? Clearly any of these offences is—much—much worse than what Bentley did.
Why have the Producers and Chris Harrison tried so hard to make Bentley look bad? They are mad at Bentley because he turned the game on its head. This game show is set up for the star Man or Woman to string along multiple mates to a rose ceremony, not the other way around. Bentley exposed how trashy this show actually is.

Apologists don’t agree Robby. When she told Bentley off in a personal interview in Japan it was considered a high point of the show for her. It’s something that producers wanted because America had turned on Ashley. Everyone thought she was completely inept when it came to relationships. The producers needed this video cllip to legitimize Ashley and Ashley wanted it so she did not look completely stupid. Reality Steve agrees with our take and he explained it in his blog. There is no way that the Bentley tell off interview actually happened when they showed it. The video is just further proof.
there is no good reason for coming on a potential marriage show when you werent interested in marriage. as soon as u found ashley wasnt for you YOU should have gotten drunk you low life BENTLEY and left the show with some dignity, instead your name is forever imprinted in many ppl’s heads and your ugly sadistic character is world renowned and will remain that way in business and leave traceable doubt in every womans heart who approaches you for a date. and hey, if you have a problem with what i say, than please feel free to tell me to my face ! and no your hair looks like you’ve been hit by a two by four! brain dead freak.

So let’s try this. I am going to ask you a question. Which would you prefer? To be Ashley who was played by Bentley on two group dates? Or to be Ben who was played by Ashley? Keep in mind that Ben ended up falling in love and Ashley let him propose to her knowing perfectly well that she was choosing JP.
Also what makes you think this show has that many viewers? Especially viewers that are in business? (good point Jen) Keep in mind that there are over 300MM people in the US.

Take some time and read comments slowly, I’m not comparing Ben to Bentley, I’m comparing ASHLEY to BENTLEY, would you rather get burned THE WAY ASHLEY DID OR THE WAY BEN DID (BY ASHLEY). –FYI these are not intended to be shouting caps just trying to make it clear for you.
Saying Bentley is on par with Hitler shows a profound lack of knowledge and respect of the holocaust. Based on your comments I’m guessing your in your teens (which is ok, but you might want to have a bit more humility in the future).
You should really spend some time reading on this blog before your next comment. We have a blog posts that respond to almost every single one of those comments made by Bentley. I’ll let you explore it yourself because I think the content is not too bad. It’s quite fun to see how well they have edited Bentley.
Specifically, check out your after the Kiss quote. Without question this was a quote about their dance routine from the date played over the part of them kissing. Totally unrelated but totally awesome editing to make him look horrible.
if we as viewers are going to sit back and laugh at a man mistreating a woman like that, we might as well club our own heads and stay in the dark ages or blame a poor economy for enlightened mischief via bully behaviour, or better yet, move the heck outta the us completely and marry someone who REALLY finds this type of behaviour acceptable for comedic relief. If you start thinking about incentives of Bentley and producers you will begin to understand why Reality Steve (foremost reality TV expert) and Bentley Apologists think Bentley has been edited out of context.
What does Bentley have to gain by being a jerk? Who goes on TV and says “I want to be a Jerk”. If Bentley had been that type of person he would have jumped at the chance at the fake invitation to the Men Tell All show. Now what have the producers gained from the Bentley show? Ratings! Bentley has been ratings gold for the show. The producers and Chris Harrison have much higher incentives to edit him than Bentley’s incentives for being a jerk.
Take some time and read the edits blog post on this site. Turn the volume up and hear just a few examples of the type of edits the producers can do.

Final tally: Bentley made himself look like a monster on national TV, wasn’t brought back to be the Bachelor or appear on Bachelor Pad, inspired much-deserved loathing from people ranging to his ex-wife to fans and critics around the world, and has vanished back into obscurity.
Ashley and JP just got married in a beautiful ceremony that’s about to be fully covered on ABC.
Yeah, I admire your efforts to defend Bentley because everyone deserves an advocate, but in the Bentley/Ashley competition, it’s game over, he lost, end of story.
